BIG JODIE sent in a little note!
Hey, peter what is going on, it's been about 20 years since I heard your name, drop me an email some time.
Jodie l
Hey Jodie
Whats up man? Wow thats a blast from the past.
So we just had a little Spackenkill reunion party over in Poughkeepsie. But it wasnt the main one we're trying to get together for October (?) 2006.
Who was there (not all 1985 class) - Bruce Ebersman, Mike Mooney, Dave McCarthy, Sue Arnouts, John Foroglou, Chris Liberto, several others.
I'm doing a lot of movies these days. Remember? Check out my Channel on YouTube. Please give me some feedback - I'd like to know what you think of my latest work.

My daughter was born the day before the Reunion in 2006
You're invited to join my Video Channel, so that you can watch more family stuff (you probably can tell, I'm a proud father!). There's also comedy, drama, arts, etc.
Start at the YouTube playlist:

Well, that's the reality (coincidence). ON one hand is the past, on the other hand, the future. I think everyone had a good time at the get-together. It started at Residence Inn and moved over to Ruby Tuesdays for some viddles and drinks. After that, I dont know what happened since I departed. Someone else will have to continue the account. Any takers?
My assistant producer and I managed to capture some of the event on video. So as soon as I convert that, I will upload a web version... probably hosted by YouTube.
I want to emphasize, it was enormous fun to see everyone briefly, yet memorably at this little party. I want to thank Adam again and everyone else for attending... ***see you all at the upcoming reunion***

Here's the info (if you can't do the upcoming reunion, at least on this date, you can meet up with some of us!)
Host: | Adam Opitz |
Location: | Residence Inn 2525 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 |
When: | Friday, August 18, 7:00pm |
Who's up for a night of cocktails & old friends in everyone's favorite hometown? Hopefully I'll recognize most of you and we can skip the nametags... Plan will be to meet in @ Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie around 7pm. I'll reserve a suite and have drinks ready for you (maybe 1 bag of chips or pretzels too, if you're lucky). Here we can briefly catch up on the past ??? years as you show me all the photos of your kids & spouses, and I'll show you pictures of my two plants (that actually aren't doing too well). From there we'll proceed to River Station for dinner followed by a series of local watering holes via chauffer driven limo (more likely an Avis cargo van) including: Gildernew's/Mulligan's, La Falces, Hobnobbin', and Noah's Ark (not necessarily in that order). Your accommodations are your own responsibility--Don't plan on crashing in my room as I plan on sleeping with the teen skanks I recruit from the South Hills Mall earlier that afternoon. We'll split the cost of whatever chauffer driven drunk tank drives around town, and your bar tabs (aside from the free Kamchatka I provide in the room) are on your own dime. :) Email me with any questions at adam@theagencyadgroup.com I hope that this evite finds you all in good spirits and health, and look forward to seeing you in August. Do your best to make it... P.S. Anyone who has contact info for people class of 84'-89' that hung w/ us that might also want to attend---please forward evite. |

Yo yo yo. Didn't hear back from you the other day.
I am definitely interested in the Reunion Party this
summer. Looks like it should be an interclass/non
Spakenkill reunion. It would be great to see
everyone. I am sure Adam gave you some contact
info of other people. I know Goldberg is up in this
area, but I have only seen him once. He sleeps a
lot. Anyway, my email is sparksa@gmail.com and
my number is 646-[undisclosed]. Drop me a line or give
me a call
Peace,
Andrew
HEY Andrew:
Is Goldberg in Boston? I lost touch with him. Does he still work at the bank? I want to rob that place with his help. You know he wants to get into a life of crime! (jk)

I read your updated blog. My last name is still the same as it ever was. I believe a retraction is in order.
What's the projected date for the reunion?
_____________________________________________
Hello Adam OPITZ
Don't know the projected date yet, until we hear from more people. Just the other day, heard from Jay Schachter. Do you know him? That's Jason.
OK, you can help by giving me any of the contacts you have, then I can email them with the announcement.
Actually, would you cut & paste the message below... Send it out on your email list and CC me.
.........................................................................................................................
Hey everybody,
We're going to have a reunion party. It's the 21 year reunion of the Spackenkill Scapegoats and you're invited. It happened way back in the 80's.... doesn't that make you feel old?
Please feel free to make comments on the Blog so we can all read it. And write back to me if you need more info. scapegoat@enternetglobal.com
Tentatively, our party will be this summer in the Poughkeepsie area. But these things take time. We're still trying to locate people!
Send us any leads and contact info - even if you think we have them. It helps speed up the planning. Communication! Yeah, something you haven't done in ages... well, I haven't done it either. So, foget about that, just get in touch.
Merci beaucoup. Danka shane? (I didnt take German, whaddya want)
Yours truly,
P.Tasciotti aka Touk

Yo, Even though I didn't go to your high school, you know I'm coming to that reunion.
By the way, I changed my last name out here Jay Schachter...

I did get your voicemail and email, and have been enjoying the posts. I haven't heard some of those names in ages.
I'm doing good. I have been thinking about high school a lot lately, because my oldest daughter just graduated herself. She's off to college in the Fall. With 4 kids all 4 years apart (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000) so begins 16 years straight of tuition payments.
Note the birth years... This past leap year was the first leap year since I was a junior in High School that I didn't become a father.

The first time I did movies it was with Dave Goldberg and Garmby (before he became Garmby, he was Marc) But you can blame Riegel and Keith Grimes for me getting into the movies.

Correction: this is a different Jeffrey Riegel. The Jeff we know, now works for the C.I.A.

Yo, Toss em Snotti!!!!! I graduated in '88 not in your year. Don't make me older than I already am.
Where the hell is Adam Opitz? God I used to love ribbin' on that kid!
Good to hear from ya....
I reply:
Where are u Lisa? How the hell are u? Adam has been writing me. Lately, Andrew S. called me - I was busy, have to call him back.
The reunion - We're throwing a party and it doesnt matter what year you're from. Thats not one of the rules. As long as somebody knows a few of the people from 1985, they are invited.
Mike Mooney is supposedly a medical doctor. But this is being debated.

I still suggest you take advantage of the 2 week FREE membership for the Pro-IMDB, just to check it out... unless you aint into movies.
Y'know, I kinda hate movies too. One day I plan to kick the habit.

Remember this book, anybody?
We used to circulate these books around the school - there was a whole, ongoing series. It's still pretty hilarious after all these years, I dug them out of the safe this month. It's unbelieveable how creative and how twisted we were!

INFO on Mike Mooney, Tom McDonnel, etc.
Andrew forwarded me a link to your site. I'll be on E. Coast from 8/11-8/21,
if the reunion happens to fall around then I'll do my best to show up.
After that, won't be back till Thanksgiving or Christmas probably.
A.) Mike Mooney is definitely not a doctor. Just spoke to him recently,
no one in their right mind would ever give him a liscense to practice
medicine. He just moved from AZ to NC.
B.) I have contact info for Sig, Leif, Tim V., Mooney, Sue Arnouts, Jen P.,
and a few others. Let me know who else you're trying to contact. Was
emailing w/ Tom McDonnel back in Feb. but my last email to him bounced
back. He's living in or near Buffalo, NY. Last I heard from Garfield he was
living in Salt Lake City, UT.
Let me know what's what, talk soon.
Adam (as in Opitz)

Christ - a blast from the past. I can't believe that you're still alive. Funny, I just moved back to Poughkeepsie with my daughter six months ago. Have you kept in touch with anyone from the old gang. I lost touch with Zelleck, Jeff Granito, Phil Smglimbeni and Vulture several years after after college - too much moving around. I'd love to know more about the reunion. Email me.... Leslie : ) |
Wise words
Photo from "the post-scapegoat archives"
circa 1991 When I started to lose touch with most of you, I went down to farm the peanut fields in Georgia, alongside Jimmy and Billy Carter. John Stevens came over to stay with me for awhile. Dave Grein was there part of the time. During that trip, we also meditated along the Ghanges river - go figure!

One of our favorite teachers...
I'm sure you do - he was that prototype for a Simpson's character.
Mr. Barton is coming to the party! He says cheerfully, "I'm always ready for cocktails".
Comment below if you have any Mr. Barton stories.... I will give you his current phone # if you write.

Allow me to drop a few names
- Steve Fazio
- Tom McDonnel
- Adam Opitz
- Garfield Russel
- Elizabeth Friedman
- Jodie Lawhorne
- Liz Miller
BTW, we know where Ralph Hunt is. And he will be at the reunion!
If you don't come to the reunion just to find out what's up with Ralph, he'll have to kill you!
Remember his yearbook quote is from Stevie Wonder - "I just called to say I love you"
So if anyone can let us know where those abovementioned folks are, comment here please.
Message from Your Club President
Some things you may want to know, as you decide whether or not to get involved with this event (doubting assholes).
I am still a criminal. I am still a rebel. I will still fuck you up. I still have no respect for authority whatsoever (besides my Israeli militant wife - friggin Jew, but I love her).
And I'm loving life to the fullest. As the Beatles say - It keeps getting better all the time.
I do have a life of my own - totally separate from the past, in fact, totally separate from the present as well! So why in God's name would I want to help organize a stupid reunion?
Because it's the classic thing to do - the drop-out shows his school spirit.
(photo from 2 years ago) Me & Dave Grein, telling you to get on the bus!
So this is your invitation, don't dis me, don't dis all of us, and most of all, don't dis yourself, scapegoat... join the fight, come to the party!
Give a shout out, some words so we know you're with the program.
Sincerely,
Your Club President
Touk aka TASCIOTTI
volunteers to do the food
This means bringing your favorite dish to share, potluck sort of. And in general, we need food helpers during the event. We need people to run the barbeque, someone to serve up the drinks. etc.
It doesn't mean you're going to be slaving away in the kitchen the whole time and no fun (that's what my wife is there for... she's going to kill me when she reads this!)
It just means you're going to be helpful little scapegoat and be a part of the immaculate organization.
Please reply if you're interested. I will love you forever.
PS. Here's my lovely wife and me last Thanksgiving.
This party is going to be a trip
Well, who's dead and who's still alive? Get in touch, so we can get a sense of the survival rate. It's a funny thing - time. At some point, each of us drops off the face of the Earth. That's what we've heard, but I don't believe it.
C'mon, how many of you thought that I'd be dead by now? According to the feedback so far, about 90% were very surprised I wasn't already gone goodbye.
So.... while we still have the chance, let's get together and talk about old times!
The network on Classmates.com (doesn't that site suck?)
This is to announce the upcoming Reunion party for all scapegoats and thier associates. Otherwise known as the Class of 1985, Spackenkill High Shcool.
BTW, I never could get INTO that phrase, Class of 1985, I did not graduate in 1985... I think I opted for the early graduation in 1983. ;)
The date is TBA, but we're shooting for late summer 2006. This is officially, our 21st year Unofficial Reunion.
As a matter of fact, did anyone go to a 20 Year Reunion? I don't think there was any. But I could be wrong, I've been hiding under a rock for the past 2 decades.
How does that sound - TWO decades?
This party is going to be a trip, so tell everybody about it! A blast from the past.
