Remembering and Finding Spackenkill Class of 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987

Peter Edward Tasciotti remembered...

Poughkeepsie, NY Spackenkill High School Classmates.

We were looking for some people we remembered.  In this day and age, we have two forces at work.  One which is making it harder on us.  The other one which is making it easier on us!  How ironic and contradictory, but it's reality, it's really going on.

These forces are first of all the one which SCATTERS people all over the globe!  It's like Godzilla kicking up dust everywhere.  (Why did I say that?)  With the crazy new technology of travel and globalization, people end up in faraway places!  It seems that nobody has to stay where they grew up.  We don't have to.  We aren't stuck.  Like cavemen in the same cave.  (actually did that ever happen in prehistory???)

The other force, or the second one, is the high technology of finding people by searching the WORLD WIDE WEB.  That's kinda what this blog is within.  it's like on the web itself.  By using these information technologies, we can save time of scouring the Earth looking under every rock.  It's all at our fingertips, at the touch of a KEYBOA RD.  Amazing!  Lightning fast!!

So it doesn't matter if somebody from the past goes to the other side of the planet (unless it's a FLAT EARTH).  It doesnt matter because they can be located on-line, there is information about them. For example ALL the unsavory info about me. ;P

There are some exciting finds, in the form of friends being reunited.  Even after 30 or more years, it's happening.  Old friends are getting in touch.

There is also some sad news to be reckoned with.  On that note, we are going to have a new Obituary page.  This is in dedication of all those we have lost.  We were remembering them, and that's all we can do.

We are back!

Maybe it was a lock out.  Maybe I just forgot. Maybe it just doesn't matter.  Because let's live in the moment, we are back and that's what counts.
Update:  new blog page is going to be released today!  That is not a post, it's a page, more important than a post.
Websearch reveals that all names are jumbled together, while being attached to various image files.  Therefore a search for a particular name will yield all the images under that name, yet only one is RELEVANT!

Dave Grein featurette

Who ever said Dave Grein was going to stop his creative doodling and such?  (no way, jose) He was voted (our class' Most Creative student - beating yours truly by merely ONE vote in 1985)  He is still avidly pursuing the expression of unique silliness.

More videos to be revealed on this blog (we hope!)

Classmates.com Just signed up and had a look around

Classmates.com I notice a bunch of you are on there.. but how many are active? In any case, it could be a resource.
They give you a free profile to start: I added two pics and answered the story question
What have you been up to, Peter? Remind them who you are and where you've been.

"lol where to begin? I'm baking cookies. I'm raising 6 children. I'm loving America and travelling the world.  I'm keeping in touch with some old friends. We are doing a reunion. We got together 9 years ago. It's time.. check out scapegoat2006 (dot) blogspot (dot) com So far, some basic info is there. Hope to see you all real soon. ;) "

You can see it all there if you have a hankering to check out that site. Why not, it's a kick. I will try to contact some of the classmates through there.

Remember those Prom songs? I think this was one...

Bryan Adams - Heaven

This is what our school looked like. Is it there in real-time? I dunno. Do you still live there?

Oh there is the view when getting off the bus in the morning..
Here is one of the yearbooks. Do you still have yours? I can't find mine. Post some pics.
And here is the almighty symbol. It is the deadly Spartan head.  Those Spartans will knife you for looking at them the wrong way. No wonder they are extinct.

Hello again Spackenkill! It's been almost 10 years.. my how time flies!

Almost 10 years ago we started this blog and everybody got together for the 20th year reunion.. I mean the 21st year reunion.  We missed the famous 20th by one year. Who cares, right? 20, 21, same difference. I say better late than never.

That event was attended by about 30+ people, if I recall correctly.  We didn't officially have a count.  Well, we did not officially do anything.  It was totally casual. And some of the people were not even from the 1985 scapegoat class.  Who cares?!  We all had a good time.

This year is 2015, so if we can still do the math, that is 30 years. What are we going to do?  That is the question.  If we miss this year, we can always do a 31st year reunion next year.

Let's contemplate the possibilities.  I was always one for possibility.

But seriously, if we are going to do this, we should make sure everybody gets the word.  Everyone and their underclass or overclass friends will get invited. We will officially announce it a few months in advance. This will give enough time to make arrangements.

Where should we hold the reunion?

Should we have a DJ?  Or just play some musak in the background?

Who can help with all the planning and whatnot?  I'm in.  I already spoke to a few people who may be interested to attend.  How much they will help is another question. But who cares, how much does it really take to pull this off?  It's easy. All it takes is posting on a blog to get things rolling.

stay tuned for more details!
